Successful mixed plants
Vion Carilsheim is one of the most successful German mixed plants, with 21,000 pigs and 2300 cattle currently slaughtered and cut up each week. More than 50 % of the fresh meat is sold in the region, to local food retailers, butchers, restaurants, and industry. Yet equally, 27 % of the meat produced in Crailsheim goes towards export, for example pork belly to Korea and backfat to Japan.
