Expanded and modernised over the past few years, the Altenburg site is Vion’s central meat plant in the “triangle” region of East-Central Germany consisting of Saxony-Anhalt, Saxony and Thuringia. The close link with the agricultural sector as well as the food retail industry and butchers ensures a regional supply of local products. Established in 1994, the site has also built up a loyal customer base in export, which is constantly delivered.
