Working for VION

VION Food Group values the quality of its workforce as much as the quality of its products. We are an employer that in 2010 again improved its quality for existing and potential professionals. We are an international company that offers talent development and career prospects.

Recent years have been marked by strong international growth of the VION group, which also extended to the number of employees and their diversity. Our ambition is to have a proactive HR policy in which the further development of the organisation and the employees plays a central role.

VION adopted a strategic HR policy under the name of Passion for People. Three themes are characteristic of this policy and we will integrate and implement them in the next few years: recruitment & selection, talent management & training, and remuneration & labour conditions.

Recruitment and selection
We also set up a graduate recruitment and trainee programme. This programme focuses on the international recruitment of promising graduates with an initial focus on those with production and logistics qualifications.

We will broaden our approach to graduates with commercial, financial and technological backgrounds. The internationalisation and diversity of functions and work activities within VION offer opportunities of recruiting the right people and offering them attractive careers.

We will make further use of the opportunities that the internet and social media offer for labour market communication. This will enable us to strengthen the name and awareness of VION as an employer.

Talent management and training
To let employees share knowledge and extend their personal development, we maintained our commitment to education and training at all levels in our organisation. We will continue this approach and we will start three newly developed international management programmes, focused on the different phases of a management career.

Remuneration and labour conditions policy
A remuneration and labour conditions policy in keeping with market conditions is important to be able to recruit, retain, and reward employees. An expat policy to support the international careers of our employees will also be established. VION’s assessment and remuneration policy is based on a performance management system. The company’s annual objectives are translated into specific and concrete personal targets for the management. We will use personal development objectives to build on the results of individual employees and the company.

Working environment
A culture that promotes health and safety is, and will continue to be, of great importance for the success of our company. As a result, VION has drawn up a progressive health and safety policy. Our management systems are based on international standards and legislation, and include objectives that are tested regularly through internal and external audits, performed by teams of experienced professionals.

VION has made a commitment to continuously improve the safety performance and permanent safety training of all production employees. In 2010, VION implemented and optimised new and existing safety standards, to permanently and explicitly make workplace safety an integral element of our organisation.
