What has your career been like?
I have been working at the VION Food Business Controlling Department ever since my traineeship in 2007. I also worked here during my graduation assignment, which followed this traineeship. I am now responsible for sales controlling and for master data management for articles.
What is important to you in your work?
I have a highly communicative job where I come into contact with all the various specialist departments at VION, and there are points of contact almost everywhere. Because I work on several projects I meet lots of different people; this is what keeps my job exciting.
What are your tasks?
Besides classical reporting, sales controlling offers lots of interesting tasks and projects. These include Functional Application Management for our controlling tool, the expansion of the central data warehouse and setting up a customized security deposit account for customers.
What are the challenges you face?
Standardising structures is a daily challenge! You can only get an overview of the sales activities of VION Food if you have uniform structures. This offers great potential for increasing transparency and for making structured information available to base decisions on.
What interests you in your work?
Since I like working independently I always enjoy applying the VION principle of entrepreneurship and instilling my own ideas into daily practice. I enjoy setting my own work agenda and acting on my own observations.”
What does your team mean to you?
There are six people in my team. They are all committed: from sales controller to butcher, and they all bring their own energy to help the company achieve more. The team spirit is excellent.
What is VION’s culture like?
VION distinguishes itself by decentralised structures, resulting from the strong growth in recent years. Apart from being a challenge, this also offers all kinds of opportunities. Our approachable management and involved, creative, employees go to make a very special working atmosphere.
What makes VION an appealing employer?
VION offers lots of opportunities for individual development. I’m taking part in "Explore" this year, the VION Management Programme. This is a great opportunity to get to know employees from all over the world! I wonder what new challenge I will be offered after "Explore"?
What has been your best moment so far?
The best moment so far has been my being admitted to "Explore". It is quite special to be given the opportunity to learn a lot about the company and its employees. We've done the first module of Explore and I'm already looking forward to the next meeting. There is still so much to learn!
